19 Oct Drones will be used to transport blood to health facilities in Ulaanbaatar
A symposium titled “New Smart Logistics in Mongolia” was jointly organized by Mongolian and Japanese government and private sector organizations on September 28 in Ulaanbaatar. During this event, a memorandum of understanding was signed to establish a working group supporting Mongolian New Smart Logistics industry.
The working group representatives from the Mongolian side included the Newcom Group, Mobicom Corporation, TokTok companies, the National Center of Transfusion Medicine, and the Mongolian-Japanese Hospital of MNUMS. From Japan side, organizations such as Aeronext, KDDI Smart Drone, Seino, and the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) were part of this collaboration. Together, these entities will explore the feasibility of implementing a new smart logistics system called SkyHub®, a drone delivery network, in Mongolia.
Furthermore, working group announced plans to cooperate with the National Center of Transfusion Medicine and the Mongolian-Japanese Hospital of MNUMS to establish a medical supply chain using transportation drones within the year. Experimental work on blood transportation by drone will also be conducted as part of this initiative.
The project is poised to significantly impact Mongolia’s social and health sectors, particularly in emergency medical care, by establishing a new generation of smart logistics infrastructure across the country.
